Major duties of this position includes, but are not limited to, the following: Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management, including developing appropriate safety plans with clients, to address the variability of victims' needs; Assist with the filing of victim compensation forms; Upon request and with permission, accompany victims as a support person: - Throughout all stages of the University's investigation and discipline proceedings, including acting as an Advisor at any related meeting or hearing.
- When giving reports to or meeting with University Police, local law enforcement, the Title IX Coordinator, and any other University administrator related to a Sexual Misconduct complaint.
Under general supervision and reporting directly to the Director of Counseling & Psychological Services, the Confidential Sexual Assault Victim's Advocate provides the emergency and ongoing support services in order to ensure the well-being and safety of victims of sexual misconduct.
Services include confidential support and advocacy on behalf of the victims of sexual violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and hate crimes; and to provide outreach, consultation, and education to parents, family, and the campus community regarding responding to and preventing sexual and other forms of violence, harassment or discrimination.
